THE HUTU GENOCIDE BY TUTSI : France 2 broadcasting

I n the program “Télé Matin” broadcasted by France 2 (French television) , January 31, 2105 and presented by William  LEYMERGIE , we are shown a work by Paris Match where photos , published during the past 60 years ,are selected by the weekly magazine . The journalist, Damien THEVENOT, whose guest is Mr Olivier ROYAN, director of editorial at Paris Match, asks his first question  about a photo showing people , who had run away with the perpetrators of the genocide in 1994, coming back to Rwanda .

Damien THEVENOT:  “An other striking photo : The hutu genocide by Tutsi . Why have you chosen this photo?”

Olivier ROYAN : (without frowning) “In 1994 , you have this incredible event , in front of the international community , the Rwandan genocide during which Hutu will be entirely exterminated by Tutsi. “

And he goes on, showing the human tide coming back from Congo where they fled, so that to underline the words of the Paris Match director of editorial.

Again, one will tell us “mistake”, “confusion”  “misunderstanding”. But we are tired to hear, at regular periods, this disinformation which, sooner or later will be printed in the mind of all the people who don’t know what happened in Rwanda in 1994, or don’t want to know it. Such a confusion should be condemned and denounced. Here we are again after 20 years: it’s unbearable. We might have thought that the cover of SIMBIKANGWA’s trial ,by the media,  and his 25 years’imprisonment for genocide could light up public opinion,, and above all, those who produce it : well : NO!. It gives the opposite.  I don’t want to be rude, but I might say to those journalists: “When you don’t know , you just….(shut up)”. But maybe is there a real wish to say the opposite of what the truth is. And then, we are no longer in the fields of stupidity and ignorance.

France 2  and the journalists dealing with this morning program  must be condemned. But who are we in front of the almighty power of media; A wish: let’s this call be heard and be spread at full extent. We can’t stand that, after 20 years, one can distort the truth this way , due to the respect of all the victims and families we have.

This re writing of History has to stop. The Tutsi genocide denial should be condemned by law. But who is really interested?
