The Civil Plaintiffs Collective for Rwanda (CPCR) needs you!

The Civil Plaintiffs Collective for Rwanda (CPCR) needs you!

As you probably know, new historic trials will be held in France in 2015. The CPCR will of course follow them closely to relate, explain and decrypt them for you. But we are in dire financial straits! The legal proceedings are becoming more and more numerous; the expenses are increasing and go well beyond our association’s budget… So, after more than 10 years of independent funding, sometimes backed up by our own private funds, we are obliged to make an urgent appeal to you all: voluntary helpers, sympathizers, citizens, humanists and friends …

PLEASE DONATE NOW!

The CPCR is a recognized community service association (residents in France can thus deduct 66,6% of donations from their income tax with the tax receipt we will remit) whose main aim is to bring to court Rwandans living in France suspected of having taken part in the genocide. More than one million Rwandans were murdered between April and July 1994 because they were born Tutsi.

20 years later, largely through the work of the CPCR and the support of other civil society associations, the first genocide trial was held in France. Pascal SIMBIKANGWA was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment by the French criminal court on March 14, 2014, for genocide and complicity in crimes against humanity (he is appealing). This historical trial was the result of a long and relentless process starting in 2001. It laid the ground for the numerous trials to come in 2015 and later. And as always these proceedings for justice and memory have a cost. That is why the CPCR is making an urgent appeal to each and everyone of you for a donation, to cover the expenses of the proceedings.

WE NEED YOU TO HELP US CONTINUE THE FIGHT FOR JUSTICE.

Only justice can restore dignity to the victims. An immense thank you to all those who can help us give hope to survivors and to the victims’ families by continuing the fight for justice.
